About Me

Me and the Grand Canyon
Welcome to Marco's Miles!
My name is Marco Anzures and I'm a professional runner living and training in my beautiful hometown of San Diego, California. I attended UCLA where I completed my undergraduate degree in History. I also competed for both the Bruin cross country and track & field teams. Currently, I've taken an assistant coaching position at the University of San Diego, helping a new generation of stars reach for their goals!

I'm a proud co-founder of the non-profit Grassroots Running Project and its youth running program, 2nd Recess. Our motto is to "inspire through action!" and we strive to be sources of inspiration to our community through hard work, compassion, and commitment.

Marco's Miles is my personal blog following my unique path as a distance runner towards my ultimate dream of competing in an Olympic Game. If you see me at a race, stop and say hello! I love hearing about other people's athletic journeys and I'm an all-around friendly guy. I hope that you enjoy what I have to say, and maybe have something to say about it yourself!
